OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide a sanctuary where homeless dogs and cats benefit from exceptional care in hopes they may enter a loving foster or forever home. Unlike traditional rescues, Harley’s offers lifelong residence to animals who are unable to be fostered or adopted, ensuring they have a permanent home for the rest of their lives. When we accept a new in-take we promise them not just 2 or 3 weeks, but years of care, regardless of the challenges they bring.
HOW IS OUR MISSION ACCOMPLISHED?
Harley’s provides urgent and ongoing medical care, a healthy, protein rich raw meal plan to aid in the healing of their neglected bodies, training and socialization skills, and lots of affection and play for trust conditioning. Our residents reside in comfortable, climate-controlled cottages complete with large play yards for space to run and exercise at their leisure. Continued upkeep of our facility is crucial to support animals in need and we are 100% funded through generous individual donations. This is a labor of love. There are no paychecks, grants or corporate donations.
100% of funds raised go directly to the care of our dogs, cats and their sanctuary.
RESIDENT BACKGROUND
Harley’s works with rescue partners across Texas who have special cases deemed “unadoptable” due to medical concerns, advanced age, temperament, or breed, which greatly limits their adoption prospects and opportunities to ever leave the shelters alive. We work strictly with overpopulated shelters and animal control facilities who are out there fighting for these special souls. They come as strays, or from hoarding situations, neglectful ownership cases, and needing medical care the facility cannot fund. They also come to us because they are just a very good boy or girl who doesn’t have the “look” people want to adopt.
At Harley’s, everyone is loved equally.
WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE
To support our mission, Harley’s gratefully accepts financial donations, HEB grocery gift cards for food purchases, contributions toward veterinary care, materials for sanctuary maintenance, bedding, cat food and litter, cleaning products, and other essential supplies necessary for the wellbeing of over 40 animals in our care. These donations are critical to sustaining our operations; we require approximately $5,000 each month to continue providing support just for our current animal residents.
ADDITIONAL WAYS TO SUPPORT
Donors can assist by cleaning out their freezers or refrigerators; we gratefully accept beef, pork, chicken, fish, cleaned wild game, and vegetables and fruits (fresh & frozen). These ingredients are combined using a commercial grinder to create a nutritious, more cost-effective meal, and are tailored to each animal’s needs.
Harley's is always in need of supplies. Purchasing necessities like toys, treats, bedding, cleaning supplies, lumber and maintenance materials, put a strain on the sanctuary finances. Please consider donating whatever items you may have no use for any longer, but we can put it to use for our sanctuary. You will be amazed at what we can do!

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO OPERATE HARLEY'S?
$5,000 +/-PER MONTH
We don’t receive grants, as we can’t afford to pull our volunteers away from the sanctuary to sit behind a desk. We also don’t get corporate donations because we’re not big enough to get their attention. From the founder to every volunteer, this is a true labor of love, with not a single paycheck issued. Every dollar comes from people who care about animals and believe in what we do. Your support allows us to keep our mission alive and save more animals in our community and from across Texas.
